Seriously, my life is a result of taking chances and stepping out on faith! I share so much of it because I want to show dreamers what could actually happen if you just step out on faith. Now don’t me wrong, it’s not easy and honestly I could do better at sharing some of my failures so that dreamers can see it’s a gamble but well worth it! Anyway, I didn’t mean to start preaching, but I come in contact with so many people run who want to pursue their passion and I just wanna grab them and say just freakin’ do it–unfortunately it’s not that easy. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago. I was invited to WSB-TV for a back 2 school luncheon and I thought I was going there to talk about bus routes, uniforms and cafeteria food…but to my surprise I had the time of my life! For Atlanta school is back in session next week. I don’t know about you, but the Summer went entirely too fast for me and I’m sure the kids would agree with me on this one. My husband is an educator in Georgia, so I know how important it is for teachers to have supplies for their classrooms–especially when most of them pay for their own supplies. While at WSB-TV a couple of weeks ago I learned that Kroger will be giving Georgia educators free supplies (Today Only July 28, 2015) to kick off their school year. Read more for the details.
I was honored to host the red carpet earlier this month on behalf of Wells Fargo. I had the pleasure of talking to African American celebrities, students and college presidents about how UNCF is a vital organization that is needed to support educational endeavors. Wells Fargo is creating a new normal among corporations by executing a campaign that will inevitably be the catalyst to strengthening relationships in the African American Community. On April 12th I attended the UNCF Evening of Stars in Atlanta on behalf of Wells Fargo, who was also a major sponsor. I had the pleasure of hosting the red carpet on behalf of Wells Fargo, so the occassion called for a whole lotta glam. I called glam expert Toni Acey to “Ace my Face”, and I would say she did an amazing job! If you know me, I’m good for a fab lippie, but an entire face–no way! I applaud every woman who gets up and aces their face every morning! It’s fun every now and again to put on lashes and see your face contoured like you’re in the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. Yasssss! Stay tuned for my recap of UNCF Evening of Stars–such a Cinderella moment!
